Calpe Routes
Routefiles for your trip to Calpe…
These routes form part of the planning material I provide for clients booking a cycling holiday with me.
The rides have been selected to suit the destination and the flow of the week, with a mix of easier days and longer Big Days Out depending on how you’re feeling.
Each route can be viewed on Strava, saved to your account and exported as a GPX file for use on your head unit.
Alongside the routes you’ll find key climb information and café stops so you can ride with confidence without needing to plan on the ground.
Warm Up Rides
Core Rides
Calpe has had a real boom in recent years, and the Coll de Rates in particular has gone from being relatively unknown to THE climb to beat. All because of one relatively good cyclist and his KOM attempts…
Coll de Rates:
The perfect testing / training climb? Long enough to hurt, short enough to repeat if you really want. Same gradient all the way up and the perfect gradient to tap away easily or really go for it.
Val d'Ebo:
You might, if you’re lucky, see Remco smashing his way up this in his early season preparations. Longer than Rates it’s a great climb to weave into a Big Day Out…
Port de Tudons:
Steady, long, get in a rhythm and tap up it. Don’t be fooled by the shallow early slopes, you’ll need to save your legs.
Guadalest to Confrides:
You could be forgiven for not realising you’re on a climb for a lot of it, but nearly 14km at 3% is just a lovely way to spend an afternoon isn’t it?
